The most visited location in Chandigarh is the well-known Sukhna Lake. It is located in the Shivalik Range’s foothills and stretches for 3 kilometers with an original depth of 18 feet.

Sukhna is a man-made lake created by damming the seasonal Sukhana Choe (stream). When Chandigarh was planned, the chief architect, Le Corbuiser, felt that the lake would be the center of wellness pursuits for the residents.

Location

Sukhana Lake attracts a large number of seasonal migratory birds like Siberian ducks and cranes. The rock garden on the western end and the golf garden on the south end are often crowded by joggers and walkers. Sunrise and sunset enhance the beauty of the lake and give a mesmerizing view for the photographers.
