About Kesho Rai math

An interesting story is associated with the temple. Once upon a time, there was a devotee, Lord, from Southern India who was on a pilgrimage tour to Badrinath. In the midst of the journey, while he was climbing 2100 feet, he was tired and decided to rest. The place where he decided to rest was on the eastern bank of Alaknanda in Srinagar, which was capital of the kingdom of Garhwal.

While he was sleeping, God Naryan came into his dream and asked Kesho Rai to dig a place where he was sleeping.

After opening his eyes, Keshorai started digging the place and discovered an image of Naryan. At the same place, he constructed a temple and installed an idol in it.

The same temple is called Kesho Rai. The temple is now 800 years old.Kesh Rai Math Temple is situated on the banks of Alaknanda in Srinagar and is at the junction of Kotdwar, Rishikesh, Tehri Garhwal, and Badrinath.
