Gita Mandir, also known as Birla Mandir, is located on the outskirts of Mathura, on the Vrindavan – Mathura road. It is one of the most popular destinations in Mathura, frequented by pilgrims and leisure tourists alike.
Gita Mandir, also known as Birla Mandir, is a famous temple to visit in Mathura. It was built by Jugal Kishore Birla in memory of his parents. The Birla group, or Bilra family, is quite famous for Birla temples built across India.
A beautiful red structure is made of red sandstone, with 18 chapters of Bhagvadgita written on the pillars of the temple. To add beauty to the temple, the walls of the temple are decorated with beautiful paintings of gods.. In temple garbhgriha, the idol of Lord Krishna looks mesmerizing with Lakshmi Narayan, Ram, and Sita. Inside the temple there is also a small temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It makes the whole atmosphere filled with peace and tranquility.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit the temple is during the festivals of Janmashtami and Holi. During such a time, the temple is illuminated with festive lights. Thousands of devotees visit in number to offer prayers and take blessings
