Historical Significance
Panchhaki was built in the 17th century by a Sufi saint, Baba Shah Musafir, to grind grain for pilgrims and disciples. He was a Sufi saint who was a spiritual guide to Aurangzeb. At that time, it was an engineering marvel to design such a system that generates energy through water power. Water is sourced from a distant river 6km away through the help of an underground conduit system. Later, a beautiful garden known as Panchakki garden was developed in adjacent.
