Situated within the serene confines of Bhadra Sanctuary, Hebbe falls is a captivating waterfall to visit. In the verdant district of Chikmagalur, there are many places to cover, but this captivating waterfall beckons travelers with its beauty and rejuvenating aura.
Cascading from a height of 550 feet, the waterfall falls in two stages: the awe-inspiring Dodda Hebbe (Big Falls) and Chikka Hebbe (Small Falls). Around the waterfall, there is a sprawling coffee plantation, dense forest, and mountain springs. It makes the place around the waterfall a tranquil retreat from the humbleness and bustle of city life.
It is believed that the water of Hebbe Falls is imbued with medicinal herbs and has curative properties for various skin ailments.
Trekking
There are two ways to reach Hebbe Falls. In the first leg of the journey, you have to cover 4km by motorable road, followed by a picturesque trek through dense forests spanning 2 kilometers.
For those seeking convenience, jeeps are available from Kemmanagundi to Hebbe Falls, offering a hassle-free ride amidst scenic vistas.
Timing
To explore the Hebbe fall, the best time to visit the waterfall is from 6am to 5pm. While the best time to visit Hebbe Falls is from October to January, when the surrounding flora is in full bloom.
Season
During the monsoon season, water currents are high and the terrain can be slippery. So exercise caution while exploring the waterfall and remember to wear sturdy footwear.
