About Galwan river
In the northeastern part of Kashmir, the Galwan River is an important tributary of the Chip Chap River, which rises from the Depsang Plain. It’s source of water is near the origin of the Chip Chap River. The Galwan River is fed by numerous snow-fed streams that originate from numerous glaciers. In the winter, the river freezes out and the valley becomes unaccessible, whereas in the summer, the water level rises in the river.
Galwan Valley is situated at such a high altitude and is devoid of vegetation.
