About Rudraprayag
Rudraprayag is a beautiful district in the state of Uttarakhand. It was established on 16th, 1997. It was named after the temple Rudra, that is dedicated to lord shiva. He appeared in the form of “Rudra” to bless Narad muni. The temple is at an elevation of 895 meters above sea level and sits beautifully at the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi river.
Pokhri & Karnaprayag blocks from Chamoli District and whole of Augustmuni & Ukhimath block were carved out
From the tehri district, Jakholi and Kirtinagar blocks were carved out
From the Pauri district , the Kirsu block was carved out.
Blessed with abundant beauty, Rudraprayag has many spiritual and trekking places to explore. Devrparayg is one of the favorite spots for visitors. Rudraprayag district falls when going toward the famous kedarnath temple. The 8th-century temple was built by Shri Adhi Shankaracharya. and one of the 12th jyotirlinga of lord shiva.
There are other main temples that lie near the Rudraprayag district. In the east, Madhmaeshwar , in south-east, Nagrasu; and in the extreme south lies the city of Srinagar.
